Cultivating Creativity
We will strive to enable everyone to explore their own creativity through a variety of artistic mediums.
Inclusion
We will include the voices and opinions of those we engage with – our young people, our volunteers and our community in everything we do and be led by them.
Equality
We will always look to promote opportunities for all and ensure that every individual has an equal opportunity to make the most of their lives and talents.
Passion
Everything we do - we will do with passion!
DD8 Music is a registered Scottish charity, dedicated to promoting involvement in musical activities to people of all ages in the Kirriemuir area. We run a rehearsal and recording studio in Kirriemuir. It is a space where people can have the freedom to experiment with music, and be encouraged to develop their talent.
During the recent Summer Youth Programme, as part of Angus Council's #GetIntoSummer provision we held some 60 sessions giving young people opportunities to interact and explore their creativity, culminating in a day-trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Currently our Youth Group session takes place on Fridays from 2-5pm in Kirriemuir Guide Hall, where we make music and work on projects, creating events, website content - anything goes!
Our Youth Sessions are for young people aged 11 to 25 years old. These sessions are about coming together and enjoying music. Don't worry if you're not in a band as individuals can work together jamming and writing songs. If you are in a band come along and get help and advice. The sessions are free and give a good introduction to what DD8 Music can offer. Don't be shy!
We cover song writing, learning instruments, playing music with others, music technology including recording and editing and using DAW software, as well as creating and running events that can be enjoyed by the wider community.
